Costa Rica Steel Structure Engineering Project Case

Costa Rica, Central America – Royal Steel Group, the global leader in steel structures, has just delivered a huge steel warehouse for a Central America client – Royal Steel Group reinforces the thought “nothing is impossible”. Occupying an area of 65,000 m², the warehousing was customized according to the client's needs, covering design optimization, procurement of raw materials, precision processing, and trans-rem supplies and other related services.

With regional co-ordinated solutions, quality control and timely delivery, this project was highly praised by the client and it is now the standard bearer for best practice high quality warehousing infrastructure in central america.

Tailored Solutions, Rigorous Warehousing Standards

This facility acts as a central warehousing point for the Central American customer, catering to the expanding trade needs of the region. Namely the steel structure had to comply with very high standards, as it was a storage and transshipment goods building. Considering the climate of the region, the level of corrosion and moisture resistance of the structure meets the CAC (Central American Building Standards). Meanwhile, the warehouse as a logistics center needs large bearing capacity, large spans, easy assembling and delivery on schedule, so as to guarantee production on time and connection with latter logistics flow.

Royal Steel Group delivered a complete end-to-end solution to fulfill requirements of the Central American warehouse project

Tailored Design Drawings: An architecture and structural engineering technical team revised the layout to meet Central American building codes (CAC), local logistics, climate, and included drainage solutions based on not to cause problems.

Source Quality Control: We chose internationally certified high strength weather resistance steel, with a complete“batch testing → record keeping → traceability" system for mechanical property and corrosion resistance.

Polished Manufacturing Process: Plasma cutting, CNC welding and smart drilling were automated to minimize mistakes. All of the welding was done by certified welders and quality inspections in real-time to guarantee structural integrity.

Professional Surface Treatment: Improved resistance to moisture, UV and corrosion by following a four step coating process (rust remover, primer, intermediate layer and weather resistant topcoat) with the application of anti-corrosion coatings suitable for tropical climates.

Quality Packing and Shipping: Specially packed for ocean transporting with moisture-proof film and heavy-duty wooden pallets. Kongka coordinated shipping and route optimization for delivery on-time without damage.

65,000㎡ Project Completed in 30 Days, Receiving High Client Praise

Confronted with a 65,000 m² steel structure project, Royal Steel Group adopted production scheduling optimization, process coordination simplification, and supply chain resource integration to finish production, testing, and delivery across borders within 30 working days—12% faster than average industry lead time. It has been verified by third part test that the wind resistant ability, weld strength and anti-corrosion coating is far beyond the requirement of contract.

After the acceptance inspection, the customer commented: We rated numerous global providers and Royal Steel Group was hands down our best choice. They completely understood our rigorous steel structure needs, took into account the logistics and climate in Central America, and provided an approach tailored to our needs that went above and beyond anything we could have expected. From initial consultation and during production updates to early delivery I could see they had the technical know-how and trustworthiness. We will be using this warehouse for our regional logistics and Royal Steel Group is a strategic long-term partner that we rely on .”
