Angle steel is mainly manufactured through hot rolling, using steel billets as the raw material.
1.Preparation of Raw Materials
The chemical composition, size and quality of material of steel billets is checked. Well-known grade are A36, A572 Grade 50, EN S235JR, S275JR and S355JR.
2.Heating
Billets are reheated in a furnace to 1,200–1,300°C to become hot rolling steel stock.
3.Rolling and Shaping
The heated billet is put through several rolling stands and is rolled into an L shape gradually. This process controls the leg width, thickness, radius of the corners and straightness.
4.Cooling and Straightening
The angle steel is air cooled and then peeled and straightened to meet shape and dimension accuracy after rolling.
5.Cutting and Finishing
Cutting length the finished angle steel can be both in standard length and customized length. When additional corrosion protection is needed, hot-dip galvanizing or painting can be used.
