Steel Sheet Pile Locking and waterproof performance
Design: Interlocking Steel Sheet Pile, permeability ≤1×10⁻⁷ cm/s
Americas: Complies with ASTM D5887 Standard for a Liner To Minimize Seepage Beneath Drums.
Southeast Asia: Groundwater-seepage proof for tropical rainy seasons
Steel Sheet Pile Production process
Royal Steel Group JIS A5528 SY295/SY390 hot rolled U type steel sheet pile is hot rolled in atmospheric condition with good performance of strength and dimension and anticorrosion.
1.Raw Material Preparation
The selection and inspection of the decent steel billet or slab meets the requirement of the chemical composition and steel grade.
2.Heating
In hot rolling the steel billet goes through heating to a temperature appropriate for achieving a uniform deformation during the hot rolling process.
3.Hot Rolling & Forming
A number of rolling stands are passed by the hot-rolled steel in order to form the plate into the desired U-type sheet pile profile, with its web, flanges, and interlock portions.
4.Interlock Forming
High precision rolling forms these interlocks so individual sheet piles can be locked together to form a continuous wall of retainer.
5.Cooling & Straightening
The sheet piles are straightened and oil cooled after rolling to the specified tolerances of dimensions and straightness.
6.Cutting to Length
The sheet piles are cut to the standard or special length upon customers inquire and project requirements.
7.Quality Inspection
The finished products are subjected to dimensional surface mechanical properties and interlock tests. Chemical composition and mechanical properties are tested.
8. Marking & Packaging
The bundle is labeled with the related product information such as grade, size, length and batch number before well packaging and shipment.
Steel Sheet Pile Surface
Americas:HDG coating complies with ASTM A123 standard, with a minimum zinc coating thickness of ≥85 µm. 3PE coating is available as an optional protective system. All surface finishes are RoHS compliant, ensuring environmental safety and international export standards.
Southeast Asia: Hot-dip galvanizing (≥100 μm) combined with dual-layer epoxy coal tar coating provides over 5,000 hours salt spray resistance, suitable for tropical marine environments.
Steel Sheet Pile Quality Control
Royal Steel Group tightens quality control from raw material to final production of JIS A5528 SY295/SY390 Hot Rolled U Type Steel Sheet Pile, guaranteeing reliable structure performance and product consistency.
Raw Material Inspection - Check the chemical composition, steel grade, heat no and the quality of material before production.
Analysis of Chemical Composition – Analyze the major elements like C, Si, Mn, P, and S to check the applicable requirement.
Mechanical Test – Perform yield strength, tensile strength and elongation tests for grades SY295 and SY390.
Dimensional Test – Take the width, height, thickness, length, and the cross sectional sizes from the approved norms.
Straightness Test – Observe entire straightness and deformation to enable smooth execution of work.
Interlock Testing – Test the interlock shape, fit and connection performance to have a risk-free sheet pile wall construction.
Surface Test – Test the presence cracks, too many rolling defects, deformations and other visible surface defects.
Verification of Weight & Quantity - Calculate the real weight, quantity of bundles and shipping instructions before shipping.
MTC is Available - Mill Test Certificates (MTC) will confirm the chemical and mechanical characteristics.
Third Party Inspection - SGS, BV or any other third party inspection services could be arranged as per customer/project requirement.
APPLICATION

FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between SY295 and SY390?
A: SY390 has a higher minimum yield strength than SY295, making it suitable for applications requiring greater structural strength.
Q2: Can you supply customized lengths?
A: Yes. Standard lengths such as 6 m, 9 m, 12 m, 15 m and 18 m are available, with customized lengths subject to production and transportation requirements.
Q3: Can you provide MTC and inspection reports?
A: Yes. Mill Test Certificates and third-party inspection can be arranged according to customer requirements.
Q4: Where are U-type steel sheet piles commonly used?
A: They are widely used in retaining walls, foundation pits, cofferdams, ports, seawalls, river projects, flood protection and marine engineering.
Q5: How do I select the right sheet pile?
A: Selection should consider soil conditions, excavation depth, water pressure, bending moment, required section modulus, corrosion allowance, installation method, and temporary or permanent service conditions. Final profile selection should be confirmed by the project's structural/geotechnical engineer.
