In industrial platforms and commercial fire escapes, Steel Grating Treads or Checker Plate Treads are the industry standards. Below are the most widely specified standard sizes for steel grating stair treads:

Stair Stringer Selection:
1.Light-duty / Short spans: Typically utilizes Channel Sections ([10# to [14# or C4 to C6).
2.Heavy-duty / Long spans: Prefers Channel Sections ([16# to [22# or C8 to C10), Rectangular Hollow Sections (RHS), or Wide Flange/H-Beams.
Landing Width:
The clear width of any stair landing or intermediate platform must not be less than the clear width of the stair flights it serves (typically minimum 850mm for industrial and 1100mm for commercial).
Handrails & Guardrails Height:
1.Standard Handrails: Must be between 900mm and 1015mm (34" to 40") measured vertically from the tread leading edge.
2.Platform Guardrails: Must be at least 1050mm to 1100mm (42") above the floor/platform level for high-altitude or exterior edge protection.
3.Post Spacing: Maintain a spacing of 1000mm to 1200mm between vertical stanchions.
Headroom Clearance:
The vertical clearance from the leading edge of the tread to any overhead obstruction must be at least 2000mm (6'-8"), though 2200mm is preferred to optimize ergonomics and safety.

We customized it per project plan, will make shop drawing for approval, production is based on approved signed drawing only.

Q3: What's the delivery time?
Normally, the production time is 30-45 days after order and shop drawing confirmed, plus double side customs process time which normally is 7-10 days each, and sea shipping time 18-45 days (different sea port time is different), normally it is better to leave 3 to 4 month for purchasing these materials. Considering checking dimensions and design also needs time, sending your inquiry the earlier the better.
Q4: What sizes do you need for quote?
We need stair floor to floor height and opening size or sent us project plan for checking dimensions.
Q5: Will trial assemble stairs in factory?
Yes, all the stairs will be trial assembled, we will send you pictures and videos for checking.
