1.Light-duty / Short spans: Typically utilizes Channel Sections ([10# to [14# or C4 to C6).
2.Heavy-duty / Long spans: Prefers Channel Sections ([16# to [22# or C8 to C10), Rectangular Hollow Sections (RHS), or Wide Flange/H-Beams.
Landing Width:
The clear width of any stair landing or intermediate platform must not be less than the clear width of the stair flights it serves (typically minimum 850mm for industrial and 1100mm for commercial).
Handrails & Guardrails Height:
1.Standard Handrails: Must be between 900mm and 1015mm (34" to 40") measured vertically from the tread leading edge.
2.Platform Guardrails: Must be at least 1050mm to 1100mm (42") above the floor/platform level for high-altitude or exterior edge protection.
3.Post Spacing: Maintain a spacing of 1000mm to 1200mm between vertical stanchions.
Headroom Clearance:
The vertical clearance from the leading edge of the tread to any overhead obstruction must be at least 2000mm (6'-8"), though 2200mm is preferred to optimize ergonomics and safety.
