Galvanized sheet refers to steel sheet with a layer of zinc coated on its surface. Galvanizing is an efficient and economical method of rust prevention, and about half of the world's zinc is used in this process.
According to the production and processing methods, it can be divided into the following categories:
Hot-dip galvanized steel sheet. Molten zinc is the media in which the thin steel plate is dipped into the molten zinc tank to produce the zinc coated steel. At present, production is generally carried out using continuous galvanizing method, that is, sheet steel in coils is continuously immersed in molten zinc in a galvanizing pot to form galvanized sheet steel;
Alloy galvanized steel alloy galvanized steel. The identical hot-dip galvanizing process is applied in the manufacture of this type of steel, but after exiting the bath, it is promptly reheated to approximately 500°C to form a zinc-iron alloy layer. This type of galvanised spc has very good paint adhesion and welding.
Electrogalvanized steel. Galvanized steel so called electro galvanized steel sheet workability is very good, but the layer is thin, its rust resistance is lower than hot dipped galvanized steel.
Main Application
Features
Corrosion resistance, paintability, formability, and spot weldability.
It has wide applications, especially for part of high aesthetic in small appliances. But it's more expensive than SECC, many manufacturers are migrating to SECC to keep the cost down.
Classification by zinc layer: The size of the zinc spangles and the thickness of the zinc layer are indicators for the quality of the galvanizing process, the smaller the spangles and the thicker the zinc layer the better.
Manufacturers may also add anti-fingerprint treatment. In addition, grades can be distinguished by the coat layer, i.e. Z12 means a total of 120g/mm coat on each side.
Application
Galvanized sheet and strip steel are mainly used in fields of construction, light industry, automobile, agriculture, the breeding of animals, fishery, and commerce.
Roofing and Wall Materials: Galvanized sheet has good weather-resistant property and can prevent rain, freezing, sunshine, natural wind etc. from it. It is widely processed into corrugated steel sheet and pre-painted galvanized sheet (color coating on the surface of the galvanized sheet).
Steel Structural Products: In the construction of steel suspended floors (purlins, beams, and joists) galvanized sheet can be bent into a variety of shapes in a process referred to as cold-forming.
Municipal Utility: Municipal utility, such as streetlight pole, traffic sign, crash barrier, trash can. Because these products are left to outdoors and exposed to natural, the galvanized coating extends the life of rust protection of these products being damaged by rain, dust, and many other factors, so the cost of maintenance is reduced.
